Today I am excited to share a healthy item to incorporate into your life for big results. Today is all about coconut oil-hooray! Basically, l adore this fruit and all its benefits. If you aren't familiar with coconut oil, let's take a moment to learn a little about this crazy healthy fruit. Coconut meat and oil contain the healthy fats that have a big impact on your overall health.
Crazy for Coconuts
Most coconut oil is an edible oil extracted from the meat of mature coconuts. Coconut oil contains beneficial fats call MCT (medium chain triglycerides). MCT oils have numerous health benefits such as:

◊Improved cognitive function.
◊Supports gut health.

Add coconut oil to your coffee
Want a great way to start your day? Adding one teaspoon into your morning coffee can help accelerate your metabolism and help scorch fat. Plus, it adds a rich and delicious taste to your morning java. The healthy fats in this coffee keep your belly full and reduce hunger. Check out my post on my morning Beauty Brew for more details. Add this to your morning coffee to serve up a cup of goodness:
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of honey (optional)
Brew up a cup of your favorite coffee. I usually add all the ingredients in the coffee cup and add the coffee so it melts when I pour the warm coffee in the cup. You may choose to blend all these ingredients together for a smooth and frothy consistency. I use my magic bullet as I find it blends beautifully. Tip- if you don’t want to bother with the blender, buy coconut oil in the liquid form. This takes a step out of the process. It can be hard to find in stores but look in the organic cooking isles and most places carry it.
Splash it into your smoothie.
Coconut oil is delicious and a great way to add a dose of healthy fat into your smoothie- soooo good. Throw all your ingredients into a blender, add your protein source and 1 tbsp of coconut oil and you have a satisfying smoothie.
Swish It
Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice which involves swishing coconut oil in the mouth. My new favorite thing to do and here’s why:
- Helps whiten teeth.
- Prevents plaque, gum disease, and cavities.
- Improves breath.
- Detoxifies the body.
How to do it
◊1 tbs of coconut
◊swish around your mouth this for 10-20 minutes (don’t swallow).
◊spit the oil in the garbage (it will clog your sink)
◊brush your teeth and rinse.
Cook with it
Coconut oil is one of the best oils to cook wit because of its high smoking point. This means it won’t break down and get toxic at high temperatures. Making it one of the best oils for cooking and baking. Use coconut oil in baking as a butter substitute. It can be used 1:1 ratio.
