Rise n Shine! I have a confession- I love mornings (insert eye rolling here). Seriously, there's something so exciting about waking up early and having empowering rituals that set the tone for the day. My morning routine is no joke and I'm particular about them. It's my time I have before the kids wake up where I can take some time to myself to reflect and think about how I want my day to go. Mornings are the time I love to exercise. Before I jump into moving my body, there is a process that happens to set up my day.
STEP ONE: LEMON WATER
First things first here, H2O upon waking. Don’t miss this part. I have a large glass of lemon water when I first wake up to hydrate. Hydrating your body first thing in the morning after you wake is one of the best things you can do to get your beautiful body prepared for the day. Adding lemon is a bonus cause it alkalines your system (this is a good thing). Want to add an extra bonus? Throw in some apple cider vinegar for a beauty blast that will leave your body thanking you.
STEP TWO: COFFEE
Duh! Isn’t this obvious? Coffee is a must. The process of coffee is so amazing and enjoyable. The smell, the flavor. All the love put into brewing the perfect java in the cutest cup-blissful! I love adding a splash of almond milk, a dash of cinnamon, and a spoonful of coconut oil. So many beauty benefits of this coffee cocktail. Try it- you will love it.
STEP 3: OILS
Yes, yes, – always a yes for oils. I am obsessed with them. My favorite oil blend to diffuse is peppermint and citrus. It’s amazing how energizing scents can be. Oils are a must for me and I bring them with us when we travel (picture small cotton balls with oils all throughout our hotel room). If you don’t have a diffuser, simply put a few drops in your palm, rub together, and inhale.
STEP 4: JOURNALING
Maybe my most favorite part of the morning. Let me set the scene…Coffee in hand, oils going, candle burning, grab my cute journal (all is well). Each morning I get out my journal and write an intention for the day and what I’m grateful for. My intention I set for the day usually is a phrase or word written that has a meaning for me that particular day. Words such as connection, love, discipline. I write these down on a sticky note to remind myself throughout the day. The power of suggestion in your subconscious mind is strong. I love going back to my intention throughout the day and reflecting on these words. Basically, I have post-it notes all around the house (even my vehicle).
Gratitude is another thing I love to journal. Gratitude for people in my life and all I have received. Seriously, this brings me joy. I list 5 things for the day to feel grateful for and this can take anywhere from 2-10 minutes. It’s about taking a moment to reflect and go within to be thankful for all I have been blessed with. Some pretty cool things can be discovered if you take 5 minutes for gratitude.
STEP 5: READING
Gotta make time for this daily. Learning and growing are important to me. I love getting into a new book or listening to a podcast on topics I love. Learning expands your mind and opens it up to new things. If I don’t have the time to get into a book, I’ll listen to a podcast or video while I’m getting ready. Because I’m a crazy journal person, I like to write down things I find valuable.
There you have it. My morning steps and how I like to get the day started. Taking the time for yourself in the morning takes commitment. I promise you, if you start the process, you will love it. It’s amazing what 5-30minutes to yourself can do to make your day amazing.
Do you do any of these routines? Did I miss one? Please share some things you love to do to kick off your mornings so you feel like a rockstar.
With Love,
Sara
Love!!!
Lemon water is definitely a must! Breakfast = break the fast
I always write a few things that I’m grateful for and then I add something that hadn’t happened but write it as if it has.. putting it out to the universe.
I can’t wait to implement oils into my routine ❤️❤️❤️
